Another Finals Weekend!

On Saturday the Ladies Doubles Handicap was won by two worthy winners Sue Brown and Jill Stanton 6-2, 6-2 against Bunny Smith and Raji Sharma-Drake.

The following day saw three finals take place:

The Men’s’ Doubles Handicap final was nail bitingly close with lots of deuces. At the end of the long match Jack Green and Gary Constable came out on top in a three setter 7-6, 6-7, 6-2 against Ian Mcilrath and Nick Flynn.

Andrew Cordery had a convincing 6-0, 6-0 victory over Graham West in the Vets Men’s Singles  final. The score wasn’t a true reflection of the match as there were many deuces.

Finally the Handicap Mixed Doubles final took place to round off the weekend. Roy Marshall and Bunny Smith took the title 6-4, 6-4 beating Jim Scarrot and Judith Haarer.

The previous weekend saw the Ladies Vets Singles final between Bunny Smith and Frankie Bedi. Frankie came out the winner 6-4, 6-2 to retain her title.

In the Vets Ladies Doubles Penny Allen and Helen Malone beat Raji and Bunny 7-5, 6-0.
