Ashford Tennis Club has something for all juniors whether they want to play just for fun or take it seriously. Whether it’s fun social tennis, competitive matches in our tournaments or National Club League, or simply a great place to meet up with their friends in a safe environment, and social events, we welcome juniors of all abilities.

Individual and group coaching is available on request and coaching courses are regularly arranged.

Junior Membership

After much consideration we are making big changes this year, which the coaching team feel will benefit for the juniors. Membership fees have been reduced and represent excellent value for money, as we want to maintain the club's aim of encouraging the juniors.

The benefits of the membership are being able to use the courts free, take part in the club Junior and Mini championships free, take part in the Junior Ladder starting in May for free, and Junior club night (only £1), and to take part in the coaching programme (fee payable).

Membership runs from the 1st May 2010 – 30th April 2011.

Fees are reduced when joining later in the year:

* Parent of Mini or Cadet entitles the parent of that child to play with them only Mon-Fri up to 6.30pm, and Sat/Sun after 6pm.

Coaching

Those wanting to take coaching will book and pay through myself. We have detailed below the coaching plan for the Spring Term. There are a lot more classes on offer as we want to reduce the class sizes this year, and also put the juniors in classes more suited to themselves individually with regards to standard. This way the juniors will benefit and also the coaches can structure the lesson according to the standard of the group. Also it gives the opprtunity to those who are really keen to do extra sessions with a 25% discount if a junior is doing more than one session a week, but this does not include performance squads. If a session is cancelled by the coaching team for example bad weather etc, then an extra session will be provided which has never been the case with the summer coaching before. These changes will offer the juniors more attention, and increase the safety of the lessons.

Summer Holiday Camps 2010

Last year the summer camps proved to be popular. The summer camps are about 50% tennis and the other 50% are games such as football, uni hoc, mini basketball, etc. All these games help with co-ordination in tennis. We also run some fun tournaments during the sessions with prizes to be won!

Ages 5-16 All groups are split into age and ability. 

All sessions start at 9am and finish 12 noon.

25% Discount for any child taking a 2nd Group (not including performance squads)
If a squad has 4 or less players it may not take place. We will try to find an alternative one for you.
