We have nine courts – six of these are artificial clay and three are all-weather hard courts. All courts are floodlit allowing play to take place right up until 10:00pm. The artificial clay courts do not need rolling or watering and are available to play on all year. The courts are open to use by the members seven days a week. The hard courts are designed to accommodate wheelchair users, as is the clubhouse and bar. The clubhouse has full changing facilities, including showers.

Players have access to a ball machine which is free to use for all members once they have had an induction on its use. A hitting wall is available on one of the hard courts.

We have a children’s playground and sports field. There is ample and adjacent car parking at the complex.

The club is managed by a committee of volunteers who meet regularly to discuss all areas of the running of the club which is administered under the terms of a constitution.

WR Sports Complex

We are more than just a tennis club. Not only do we provide the best tennis facilities in the local area for all abilities but we also offer socialising opportunities within the WR Sports complex.

The site, which is shared with the other clubs: Ashford Table Tennis Club and Ashford Bowls Club. The clubhouse has a licensed bar which is open every day from mid-day to 11pm (10.30pm on Sunday).

W.R. Sports Club has around 800 members which include sporting members from tennis, table tennis, and bowls, as well as social members. The club actively encourages, promotes and facilitates the playing of these amateur sports in the borough of Spelthorne, the surrounding area and amongst the community.

The Woodthorpe Road clubhouse can be hired for functions (a small charge to members) and refreshments and music can be arranged.

Social membership is also available at the site, offering the opportunity to use the bar and its indoor facilities, i.e. darts, pool, satellite TV and social functions. For further information on this contact the clubhouse on 01784 251255 or view the WR Sports website.

We are located at Woodthorpe Road, Ashford, Middlesex TW15 3JX
